Marie Hoag

Marie is an outdoor enthusiast who feels most stimulated exploring places on foot, be it an urban foodscape or on a new long-distance trail with a fully loaded pack. With a special affection for South America, Marie has pursued notable treks in the southern hemisphere including the W Trek in Chile and the Salkantay Trek, Ausangate Circuit, and Inca Trail in Peru. Other memorable trips include solo-hiking the Spanish Pyrenees on the GR11, horse-packing in the Absarokas with NOLS and tackling the mountains of North Carolina on the unfinished Mountains-to-Sea trail. She is first and foremost a hiker and yogi but is eager to continue to expand her repertoire through new interests including fly-fishing, rock climbing and high-elevation mountaineering.

Marie has led trips to Patagonia, Peru, Guatemala, Mt. Blanc, Mallorca, Alaska, Iceland, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion.

She is a certified NOLS Wilderness First Responder.

Currently based in Dallas, you can usually find Marie camping with her dog Rosey in her time off.
