LEAPING DEER RANCH ... home base for the trip!
We will relax and play at this amazing ranch retreat that sits on 186 gorgeous acres in northern New Mexico. This spacious villa sits on a mountain ridge, surrounded by pine and juniper forest, that overlooks a valley of pastures and a natural lake. You'll be awed and inspired by the spectacular sunrises on the huge wrap around porch as we get our days started with a warm cup of coffee or tea while watching the horses graze.
The price for this trip assumes double occupancy. Four of the bedrooms have a queen bed plus a comfy sofa bed. There is also a king master suite with a king bed and two sofa beds. You can see photos of the rooms by clicking the Gallery tab above.
The front garden has a magnificent iron horse statue, Paco by Siri Hollander. Paco stands watch over the valley amidst an aspen grove, wild rose bushes, stalks of Mullen, and the new orchard of fruit trees. Also in the garden, is a bonfire pit area that is surrounded by stone benches. When weather conditions are favorable the staff can be available to assist in preparation and starting of a bonfire. There are very low levels of light pollution at Leaping Deer Ranch, so we'll definitely plan to do some star gazing. The night skies at the ranch are one of its best features!
Retreat - Yoga & Meditation Descriptions
(all yoga and meditation classes are for all levels)
What is a mindful movement yoga class?
This signature slow flow will help you drop your need to "do" and allow yourself to just "be." We will drown out the busyness of the outside world while nourishing the mind, body & spirit. You will be guided through slower, gentler movements, intentional breathing exercises & empowering meditations. We’ll spend time exploring the sensations of functional movement through the hips and shoulders to ease inflammation and promote proper alignment on and off of the mat.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the"going-to-sleep" stage, typically induced by a guided meditation. Scientific evidence shows that yoga nidra helps to relieve stress, relaxes the mind and body to prep for a deep intentional sleep. The preparation for this meditation style is to lay down in a comfortable position, close your eyes, and soft guided with the nidra meditation.
What is Vinyasa Flow?
Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. Commonly referred to as “flow” yoga, it is sometimes confused with “power yoga“. The variable nature of Vinyasa Yoga helps to develop a more balanced body as well as prevent repetitive motion injuries that can happen if you are always doing the same thing every day.
What is Thai Massage?
A deep and fully clothed floor massage incorporating passive stretches, compression and work on the Thai energy lines (Sen). The slow movements allow your mind and spirit to slowdown and realize a true form of relaxation.
What is Hatha Yoga?
A popular tradition of a yoga style with a system alluding to slower movements with more focus on posture, alignment, longer holds, and force to bring about better yoga performance. It’s a slower flow with longer posture holds.
What is nourishing yoga flow and stretch?
A slow flow with breath centered movement and mindfulness focusing on relaxing the entire body to aid with mental and emotional well being, leaving one feeling at peace and calm after the practice.

Arrival day! We will pick you and the group up at the Albuquerque airport and drive everyone to Santa Fe for lunch at The Pantry. After your tasty lunch, take a stroll around the Santa Fe plaza before heading to our home base for the trip, the Leaping Deer Ranch.
Upon your arrival, meet the ranch owner and his dog, Fluffy, for a property tour. After getting settled, enjoy a mingle before our private chef cooks dinner for us at the ranch.
End the day with a relaxing yoga stretch and yoga nidra meditation session.

Sunrises at the property are enchanting. Grab a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy the sunrise beams. Afterwards, Fluffy the dog will take us on a nature-hike.
Following your morning in nature, we'll grab breakfast and get ready for a meditation and vinyasa yoga flow.
This afternoon, you'll have some free time at the ranch to relax or explore. For the evening, we roll up our sleeves, preparing our own dinner, family-style. It's always fun to see creativity in the kitchen!
Let's wrap up the evening with a dreamy restorative yoga & yoga nidra meditation before bed. Oh and don’t forget about the hot tub under the stars!

We’ll make our lunches before we head out for the day to check out the unique light prisms and sights at the Dwan Light Sanctuary and take a dip at Montezuma Hot Springs.
Afterwards, we’ll return to the property for a little free time before exploring the largest labyrinth in New Mexico.
A labyrinth can be used as a tool to “unwind the mind,” and to let go stress or worries and concerns.
Walking the labyrinth can release patterned behavior, thoughts, and feelings of various sorts. It can "un-torque” or unwind you. As you release old patterned energy, the alignment of your body may shift or straighten into a greater spiritual alignment.
Some walk a labyrinth as a kind of moving meditation.
The labyrinth can be used as a metaphor for how you live your life. What can you learn about yourself as you walk it?
End the evening with your private chef prepared dinner. Wine and a fire pit dessert to follow under the stars.

It was a great trip. We had great guides who actually were really helpful in making sure we found ourselves, and found our passions. We really enjoyed it. Great food, great place, it was awesome!
I liked it because it was unexpectedly nice and simple, and just a great time with a bunch of girls.
I was really surprised that it was much more than just Yoga, it was about mind, body and spirit. It was amazing reset for mid-year and we all came out of it feeling zen, relaxed and centered. It was the perfect thing to do mid-year.
Kristin is awesome in leading the yoga and meditation classes. She has so much knowledge and is so helpful to everyone regardless of you flexibility and skill level. The Ranch is very remote and beautiful and the food was excellent. I especially enjoyed the mornings listening to the roosters crowing and watching the amazing sunrises over the mountain.
I just attended my first Fit 4 Adventure trip, the inaugural Women’s Wellness and Yoga retreat @ Leaping Deer Ranch in NM. Kristin Goss, our lead guide, enthusiastically shared her vast knowledge of mindfulness techniques and activities. Our yoga practice was challenging, but restful. I felt thoroughly rejuvenated at the end of the retreat - thanks Kristin! I highly recommend Fit 4 Adventure. The trip formats are geared for fun as well as relaxation. Staying at one big house and sharing meals together provided me with opportunities to get to know my fellow trip-mates. The days were organized, but schedules were flexible to fit individual needs. I am already planning my next adventure getaway with Diane and her group of guides at Fit 4 Adventure!
The Fit 4 Adventure Yoga Retreat was a great little escape from every day life. The Leaping Dear Ranch is a beautiful property with very nice amenities. We went on multiple hikes and did lots of yoga and meditation. We bonded over a big bonfire and had lots of fun. stories to share. This is a great girls" trip getaway. Kristin is an amazing yoga instructor. She and Diane run a very nice trip that I plan to go on again. I highly recommend it!
We'll plan the trip!
