Mallorca is one of our favorite destinations in Europe. Located in the western Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Spain, it is a bio-diverse island with gorgeous tree-lined hillsides, beautiful Mediterranean seascapes, sprawling olive plantations, and quaint hillside villages. We know it well enough to have our favorite hikes and haunts off the beaten path. Take a hiking holiday and see it all.
Everyone will book their own flights into Palma Mallorca International (PMI). Generally, look for flights arriving in the late morning or early afternoon on May 12 (be aware that your overseas flight may start the day before, so be sure your arrival in Palma is May 12). Plan a morning departure on May 18. We provide airport pickups and drop-offs in Palma.
A $300 deposit (per person) is due at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable.
Final payment will be due February 15, 2024. You will receive a reminder email when this payment is due. Once made, all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
By Client: If you need to cancel before the trip, the cancellation fee is your initial deposit plus any additional payments made. Any payments made are non-refundable and non-transferable. Your reservation will automatically cancel if final payment is not received by the due date. Travel Insurance is highly recommended (see below).
By Fit 4 Adventure: In the event that we must cancel a trip for commercial reasons beyond our control, including if the minimum number of trip participants is not met, you will be able to transfer any amount paid toward any F4A trip in the next 24 months. You may also opt for a full refund.
By Force Majeure: In the event that a trip is cancelled due (but not limited) to natural disasters, pandemics, border restrictions, terrorism, or political instability, F4A will offer you a future trip credit valid for 24 months from the original trip date.
F4A is not responsible for any additional expenses you may incur as result of your booking, including (but not limited to) visas, vaccinations, clothing, equipment, testing, travel insurance, or non-refundable flights.
The cancellation policy will be strictly adhered to. To avoid loss of payments due to unforeseen circumstances, travel insurance is highly recommended. We recommend booking through our partner Allianz Travel. Alternatively, travel insurance can often be purchased along with your flight.
*We at Fit 4 Adventure take the health and safety of our guests and guides seriously. We will follow all local protocols and CDC-recommended guidelines while on this trip.

Mallorca is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean - a warm and welcoming paradise with abundant sunshine, diverse scenery, and an endless list of things to see and do. Most visitors to Mallorca are here to stroll the beach, sunbathe, eat great food and drink refreshing cocktails. Of course, we do all that – but also so much more. Come along with us for incredible hiking across ancient routes in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, coastal cruising, tasting tours, market foraging, and more.
SUNDAY – May 12
Travelers from the U.S. will arrive early afternoon in Palma. We’ll greet you at the airport then take you to our private villa at the impressive estate of Finca Biniforani Nou in Bunyola in time for our Welcome Reception.
TRAVEL TIP: For those that can arrive a day ahead, it is definitely worth spending some time in Palma de Mallorca. Wrapped around an expansive harbor, this ancient and enduring city is a charmer, dating back to the 13th-century Christian Conquest of the island. Start your wandering at the impressive Cathedral de Santa Maria. From there you will be drawn into medieval streets lined with galleries, restaurants, artisan studios and aristocratic townhouses. You can enjoy a leisurely lunch on a vibrant public square, while waiting for your F4A guides who will pick you up at a central spot this afternoon.
MONDAY – May 13
Today's Hike: High Coastal Stroll
Route: Cami de sa Volta des General
Distance: 5.4 miles RT / 1,351' Elevation Gain
A walk of Mallorcan contrasts! Big coastal views, incredible rock formations, neatly terraced olive groves and turquoise-blue bays. This trail was named for General F. Cotoner who, in the 19thCentury, was the owner of the Baronia estate, now redeveloped into a luxury hotel along the trail. At the end, we discover a sophisticated little port village where time stands still, and sangria and tapas are always on the menu. We’ll stop here for lunch before returning to the start. This is a fabulous first-day walk that highlights the dramatic diversity on this part of the island, and is moderate enough that it won’t wear us out.
We will return to our villa for a little chill time this afternoon, then gather around as our local chef-caterer prepares a paella feast for us on the terrace.
TUESDAY – May 14
Today’s Hike: One-Way Coastal Hike with Boat Return
Route: Mirador de ses Barques to Cala Tuent
Distance: 6.4 miles / 1,210’ Elevation Gain
Difficulty: Moderately Strenuous
We don’t want to call favorites - but it is hard to beat a dramatic coastal hike to a unspoiled beach…with a boat ride back! Starting from a viewpoint high above Port de Sóller, we follow an enchanting route through farms and forests with a stop for lunch (and perhaps sangria) at Es Vergerets. We’ll have just a few more minutes of walking after lunch before reaching the beach at Cala Tuent and boarding an hour-long coastal boat tour bound for Port de Sóller- where we can stroll beachfront shops, restaurants and bars. Tonight, we’ll have an easy, light, homemade dinner at the villa.
WEDNESDAY – May 15
One of the must-do’s in Mallorca: explore a local market. Each village on the island has their own market, and each is one is a unique and long-standing tradition. Today we visit Port de Pollença. This lively beachfront town fills weekly on Wednesday with locals and tourists alike who come to see, savor and buy local produce, flowers, crafts and Spanish delicacies. After the market, we’ll take a short drive towards Old Pollença, where we explore with a local guide it's eclectic shops, galleries and cafés tucked away on cobblestone streets and squares.
Then, we’re off to the very heart of the island, at the Lluc Monastery. Dating to the 13th Century, Lluc is a profoundly meaningful place to Mallorquins surrounded by stunning mountain scenery and an extensive network of pilgrimage pathways that for centuries have drawn followers and the faithful to the site. Today, there are beautiful gardens, ancient forests, and fantastical rock formations for us to explore along these routes.
We’ll make a fresh and light dinner at the villa tonight, from our local market finds.
THURSDAY – May 16
Today’s Hike: The Archduke’s Estate
Route: Marina de Valldemossa to Caló de S’Estaca
Distance: 5.9 miles / 1,266’ Elevation Gain
The drive alone is a thrill. A steep narrow road with switchbacks leads us to the Port de Valldemossa where this hike begins. From there we follow a moderate footpath along the coast towards a tiny fishing village turned summer hideaway, and through the former estate of Austrian Archduke Ludwig Salvator who, at the end of the 19th Century had a grand country house built with sweeping seaside views. Today, this estate belongs to American film stars Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. We’ll rest our feet, and maybe soak them in the crystal clear and blue bay of Caló de s’Estaca before returning to Port de Valldemossa for lunch on the waterfront. On the drive back, we can stop and explore the village of Valldemossa, or head back to the villa for a relaxing afternoon by the pool. A chef-catered meal awaits us this evening.
FRIDAY – May 17
Today’s Hike: Flora, Fauna & History
Route: Cumbre de Dragonera Island
Distance: 4.6 miles / 954’ Elevation Gain
This morning we meet up with a local naturalist who will guide us on a private and personalized trip through a remote Natural Park. By remote, we mean it's an island accessible only by boat. Once on the Island, we hike our way to the highest point where stands the ruins of an old watch tower and lighthouse. Along the way, our guide will share the history of the site, and highlight the unique flora and fauna of this unspoiled area.
While we are out, there is one more stop today and it is always a highlight of the week. The Bodega Son Puig is a well-established winery operating out of a stately centuries-old manor house set among acres of vineyards and gardens. We’ll meet the wine-making family that lives and works here, and they will proudly lead us on a private tour and tasting.
SATURDAY – May 18
We’ll head back to the airport this morning and treasure the many memories we made this week. Adéu, Mallorca!
Thank you for the great trip to Spain. The experience was amazing. I can't wait to go back.
My husband I had a terrific time!!! Everything in the description of this hiking trip was true to form--accommodations (the Biniforani Nou Villa is gorgeous), hiking, shopping, and touring. Hiking along the sea was a main attraction and we were not disappointed to say the least. The views were breathtaking! The Fit4Adventure team is accommodating with things that are possible in a group situation. We had time together on the trail as a group and time apart in the little villages to shop and eat or to join and eat together. It is a safe way to travel as a group, or with a few friends, or alone. You can go alone knowing you are safe with this professional team of experienced hikers and travelers. We were a small group of 15, and it was nice to meet adults of all ages from other states.
What a wonderful trip Mallorca was; one for the books, couldn't have been any better. Friends and family ask about the trip and I tell them just that; unforgettable and indescribable. Especially for my first trip to Europe. I have totally kept replaying the entire experience in my mind since returning. You, Marie and our entire group made the trip a wonderful success and experience. The hikes, the gorgeous winery, the breathtaking monastery, the additional island hike, visiting the small towns, our house and its surrounding, our ten traveling cohorts, the wonderful meals and dining experiences, and our beautiful F4A guides ;), I would do it again the exact same way. THANK YOU!
We'll plan the trip!
