FLIGHTS
You are responsible for booking your own flights. Plan to arrive at San Jose International Airport (SJO) by Noon on Sunday, March 3, 2024. For departures on Sunday, March 10th, choose whatever flight times you prefer- our hotel provides a free 24-hour shuttle to the airport for departures at your convenience.
DEPOSIT
A $500 deposit (per person) is due at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable.
PAYMENTS
Final payment will be due January 15, 2024. You will receive a reminder email when this payment is due. Once made, all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
CANCELLATIONS
By Client: If you need to cancel before the trip, the cancellation fee is your initial deposit plus any additional payments made. Any payments made are non-refundable and non-transferable. Your reservation will automatically cancel if final payment is not received by the due date. Travel Insurance is highly recommended (see below).
By Fit 4 Adventure: In the event that we must cancel a trip for commercial reasons beyond our control, including if the minimum number of trip participants is not met, you will be able to transfer any amount paid toward any F4A trip in the next 24 months. You may also opt for a full refund.
By Force Majeure: In the event that a trip is cancelled due (but not limited) to natural disasters, pandemics, border restrictions, terrorism, or political instability, F4A will offer you a future trip credit valid for 24 months from the original trip date.
F4A is not responsible for any additional expenses you may incur as result of your booking, including (but not limited to) visas, vaccinations, clothing, equipment, testing, travel insurance, or non-refundable flights.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
The cancellation policy will be strictly adhered to. To avoid loss of payments due to unforeseen circumstances, travel insurance is highly recommended. Travel insurance can often be purchased along with your flight or you can book though our partner Allianz Travel Insurance.

Day 1
Welcome to COSTA RICA! Our private van will pick you up at the San Jose airport. Next stop, the town of La Fortuna (drive time approx. 2.5 hours). You’ll have the afternoon to explore the quaint town and get settled into our hotel. We’ll gather for our Welcome Dinner in La Fortuna that evening.

Day 2
After an early breakfast at the hotel, we jump right into a full day of ADVENTURE. The day starts with an epic canyoning excursion in the shadow of the Arenal volcano. Rappelling through waterfalls, jumping into rock pools and sliding down natural water slides - the adrenaline is sure to be pumping straight away!
After the canyoning, we’ll break for a light snack before continuing on to the Balsa River, where Class III+ rapids await. Plunging downriver, your guides will point out flora and fauna along the way- howler monkeys, toucans, maybe even a sloth sighting. Once we’ve had all we can take, we’ll enjoy a delicious Costa Rican lunch buffet before returning to our hotel in La Fortuna. That evening, we’ll enjoy dinner in town.

Day 3
Our day starts with breakfast at the hotel before heading out to explore Lake Arenal- by mountain bike! An intermediate trail winds through the forest and farmland surrounding the lake, providing great views of the Arenal volcano and plenty of thrills... During rest stops along the trail, our local guides will describe the history of the area while adding insight about the local plant and wildlife.
After our half-day excursion, we’ll grab lunch in town before loading into the van for the drive to Monteverde- home of the famous Cloud Forests (Drive time approximately 3 hrs). Dinner is served at a local Taqueria in Monteverde (included in trip!).

Day 4
After enjoying breakfast at our hotel, we will head out for yet another action-packed day. First stop- the Monteverde Extremo Zipline park. Scream like a howler monkey while flying through the cloud forest canopy, taking on 14 zip lines, 2 Superman cables, a 100-ft rappel and a massive Tarzan Swing.
After the zip line tour, we’ll let our heart rate return to normal over lunch, then it’s back into town to relax for a bit before we get a taste of Monteverde Gold- coffee and chocolate! A tour through the locally-owned and operated Don Juan plantation provides a hands-on experience with 2 of Costa Rica’s most important exports. After, we’ll enjoy a group dinner before prepping for our Night Walk in the rain forest. It’s true what they say about wildlife coming out at night- we'll creep through trails with a local naturalist as they point out all the wonderful and rarely seen creatures that call the night home.

Day 5
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head to the Monteverde Sky Tram for a visit to the cloud forest canopy. The open-air gondola soars higher and higher, with views continuing to expand across the mountainsides. Our guide will discuss the local wildlife as we continue to climb to the observation platform. After soaking up the scenery, we’ll descend to the next portion of our visit- the Hanging Bridges. Designed for bird lovers and wildlife enthusiasts, the hanging bridges allow visitors to experience the cloud forest canopy the way the local residents- sloths and howler monkeys- do- up-close and personal.
After our visit, we’ll grab lunch in town before loading into the van for the drive to the beach at Playa Bejuco(2.5 hours). Upon arrival,we’ll settle into our beachfront hotel and enjoy the evening sun before gathering for dinner.

Day 6
Welcome to Paradise! After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, take hold of the reins and seize the day- it's yours to do whatever you wish! Surf lessons, snorkeling cruises, horseback riding on the beach- there's LOADS to do in the surrounding area. Alternatively, take the day to relax- by the pool at the hotel, at the spa or on the beach... You decide! Your Fit 4 Adventure guide will be happy to assist in booking activities for the day. That evening, dinner is DIY- choose your own culinary adventure!

Day 7
After breakfast at the hotel, will hit the nearby surf town of Jaco for a chance to enjoy some free time to shop, pick up souvenirs and keepsakes. We’ll have lunch by the beach before loading into the van and heading back toward San Jose (3 hrs). Once we've arrived at our hotel in Alajuela, we’ll have time to relax and clean up before celebrating the end of a great trip with our customary Celebration Dinner that evening (included in the trip!).

Day 8
Departure day: Book flights out of SJO airport for your return home. The hotel provides free 24-hour shuttles to the airport, so feel free to book flights that suit your schedule!
I would highly recommend Fit4Adventure if you are looking for an action packed destination vacation. From the moment I got through security at the airport, Nick had everything planned, organized and ready to go and was an amazing host. All the transportation, hotel accommodations and excursions were taken care of and restaurant were either pre-reserved or researched recommendations for "own-my-own" meals. I didn't have to think or do anything but show up and the scheduled time wearing the recommended clothing. He handled all the arrangements and I just got to relax and enjoy. Pura Vida!
Just finished a phenomenal week in Cost Rica with Fit4Adventure! As usual, the trip was great and the folks you meet even more great. What a beautiful country and wonderful inhabitants. We had so many adventures- canyoneering, zip lining across beautiful valleys in the Superman position, mountain bike riding, night jungle hikes (including encounters with the tarantula hawk hornet, pit vipers no extra charge), hikes into the canopy and clouds, stays at a beautiful beach resort with wild macaws that would pay visits, body surfing, sand dollar tours 🙂, lost river rides to see monkeys, sloughs, etc. Wonderful food (except one sandwich that we will not go into). Wonderful full body laughs all week and memories for a lifetime. Pura Vida!
Truly was an awesome adventure... Can't believe we had perfect weather for a week! Each person added so much to the trip for me, personally. Thanks, Fit 4 Adventure! Pura Vida!
We had a wonderful time! So many great activities, beautiful scenery, amazing meals and making memories with new friends. Nick was a wonderful leader who always put our needs first and went out of his way to make sure we all had a great time. We look forward to more adventures in the future!
